"On 20th April 1945, at Schole del Fossatone on the Gaiana River under heavy enemy artillery and mortar fire, this officer laid lines for 3rd Carpathian Division. These lines were of considerable importance to the troops. By his outstanding work as a line section commander he was an example of courage, daring and devotion and he materially contributed to the success of the further Operations".
