"Lieutenant Colonel Golba has been senior medical officer with the Polish Parachute Brigade since May 1943. He worked most courageously and untiringly at Arnhem and was instrumental in saving many of the wounded. He has worked untiringly during the past two years to train the Medical services in the Brigade. The relationship between this officer, his medical officers and medical units on the one hand and British officers and units on the other has always been of the happiest due in great part to the lead given by Lieutenant Colonel Golba".
