"On Night 9/10 April 1945, this soldier took part in his Company's attack against the prepared enemy defences along R. Senio, in area of Felisio. After forcing a crossing of the river the Company was held up by close range Spandau fire from the far flood bank. Rifleman Romanów, orientated himself in the situation and on the spur of the moment alone attacked the enemy nest. Under enemy fire he rushed in to the position and engaged the enemy with grenades from the rear killing 2 Germans, the remaining 3 Germans surrendered, the Company was thus able to advance.
In a further attack against Felisio, when the section came under close range rifle fire, he crept up to the enemy position and with his Thompson sub machine gun he silenced the enemy, thus enabling the platoon to capture their objective.
Rifleman Romanów showed outstanding presence of mind, great courage and exceptional devotion."
