"Major Wilczyński, as Commander 6 Brigade Transport Company throughout the Italian Campaign set a high example to his subordinates. He had shown great devotion, drive and initiative. On 17th November 1944 whilst carrying supplies to the AAD at Castrocaro, he personally directed the ammunition convoy across the most heavily shelled sector of the road S. Lorenzo Castrocaro, by his self possession and calmness as well as by being an example to his subordinates. He made a large contribution on numerous occasions to the success of an action".
