"Major Kucharski, ADME of the Division, commenced his REME duties in October 1940 as Commander of the Independent Carpathian Brigades Workshop Platoon. From July to August 1942 he was in charge of the mechanics course at the Polish training centre in Palestine at Bejerje. In September 1942 he was detailed as commander of the newly formed Corps Troops Workshops, and in October of that year he commenced the organisation of 15 Polish Independent Troops Workshops. In February 1943 he was appointed ADME at 5th Kresowa Division.

Since the beginning he has shown great organising abilities, as well as devotion and energy, thanks to his organising abilities the REME Services I 5th Kresowa Division are of a very high standard. Throughout the Italian Campaign he has worked with full devotion and energy, he organised in an outstanding manner the recovery and evacuation of equipment. This he personally supervised and in the course of these duties he visited the most forward recovery posts and collection points, very often under enemy Artillery fire."
