"Captain Kwiatkowski is a GSO III (I) at Headquarters 2 Polish Corps, he has throughout the Italian campaign worked with outstanding care and energy and devotion to duty, never sparing himself. On 20th April 1945, thanks to his skilful interrogation of a Prisoner of War from 305th german division, it was possible to ascertain that the a/m Division had withdrawn to north of Bologna. This was the first indication that the enemy would not defend the city, which at the time was invaluable information for our forward units. He is an outstanding expert on all aspects of the german forces".
