"From March until September 1944 this officer filled the appointment of GSO III and later Staff Captain at AGPA, during the battles for Cassino and Ancona. Throughout this period he most efficiently administered the British Artillery Regiments under Command, between October 1944 and January 1945 he served as a Battery Commander and since February 1945 as GSO III (Operations) at Head Quarters 2 Polish Corps. Throughout all this period he has shown marked keenness, energy and accuracy, he has consistently displayed an imperturbable attitude in moments of stress and a great spirit of Co-Operation with Allied Staffs."
