"This Cadet Officer was in command of an Self Propelled M10 gun, during the attack on Piedimonte in support of tanks and infantry, from 20th May to 26th May. On the 20th May in the afternoon his detachment destroyed an enemy anti tank gun a few minutes later he was wounded by a splinter in the neck, but remained at his post. On the 22nd May at 10.30 Hours he advanced through enemy artillery and mortar fire and destroyed two machine gun posts and thus enabled the infantry to advance."
