"On 26th August 1944, Captain Cybruch was in command of a Squadron of the 6th Armoured Regiment, which was taking part in the operations leading to the capture of the Metauro River positions. Although his Squadron was under heavy fire from the enemy, he left his tank with complete disregard for his own safety, to contact the infantry he had been given the task of supporting. So as to ensure that his tanks cooperated with them to the best advantage, he then pressed home his Squadron attack with courage and outstanding leadership. Handling his tanks so skilfully as to ensure the minimum of casualties, although they were constantly under heavy artillery fire."
