"On 25/5/40 at GRAVELINES L/Sgt. Allinson carried out the demolition of a canal bridge under heavy fire. Afterwards he led his sub-section in the defence of the canal zone showing great cheerfulness, courage and resource.
As many of his men were not fully trained he had to place and instruct each men seperately."
