From April till August, 1941 together with the assistance of Major Binns and other members of the 2/8 Fd. Amb. ths officer worked self-sacrificingly under most difficult and dangerous conditions at all hours of the day and night. Notwithstanding the fact that there was no X ray equipment, an acute shortage of medical supplies, and little co-operation was received from the Italians, this officer performed many intricate operations and was undoubtedly responsible for saving many British lives.
