His efficiency, zeal and his achievements in this respect have been quite outstanding, and have very materially contributed to the success of the Allied Armies in the campaign in ITALY."

He prepared an adaptation of the Link and Code Signal Procedures for the use of the United States Army and played a prominent part in the integration and synthesis of American and British signal procedures and policies. Major Nicholson's work in this field was outstanding and a valuable contribution to the combined war effort."
