Biography

Son of John and Mary E. (Callaghan) Walsh. Class of 1941. Entered from DeLaSalle as a sophomore. Co-chairman Homecoming Dance 4; Handball 4; Junior Prom; Intramural basketball & softball 2,3 & 4.

His company command point had been hit and his company was going to the outpost of company "G" for a rest. Bill was killed while crossing Joseph Goebbels Avenue. Bill is buried next to his brother, John. When Bill died, the family requested that their only surviving son, Austin, be returned from New Guinea, where he was serving.
