Citation:
"This officer was a member of a small party landed by parachute in the KOKANG area in May 44. Local hostility made the continued existence of the party extremely precarious but Captain HUNTER displayed at all times a cheerful demanour and fearlessness in spite of a difficult and dangerous position.
In Dec 44 he was a member of another party landed by parachute behind the enemy lines.
At a time morale was low, it was his influence and courage which swung the balance and enabled an operation to proceed, which ultimately turned out to be highly successful and produced much valuable intelligence for the Army.
It says all the more for Captain HUNTER's conduct that in neither case was he the leader of the parties concerned. I strongly recommend that he be appointed Member of the British Empire (Military Division)."
