"Als nach der Einnahme von Bischofsheim der Feind gegen die nur mit drei Kompanien besetzte Stadt Lisière mit Kolonnen einen zweimaligen Offensivstoß machte, führte Hauptmann von Below seine Kompagnie aus Deckung zu Salven auf die unter Gewehr und Grantfeuer liegende Brücke. Die gute Haltung der Kompagnie wie die wohlgezielt abgegebenen Salven trugen nicht bloß dazu bei, daß diese Offensivstöße abgeschlagen wurden, sondern machten die späteren auch unsicher und schwankender."

When, after the capture of Bischofsheim, the enemy made two offensive thrusts against the town of Lisière, which was only occupied by three companies, with columns, Captain von Below led his company out of cover to volleys onto the bridge, which was under rifle and grenade fire. The good attitude of the company and the well-aimed volleys not only contributed to the fact that these offensive strikes were repulsed, but also made the later ones unsafe and unsteady.
