On May 8th, 1942 Oberleutnant Werner Böllert took off from Soesterberg airfield in the Netherlands with Dornier Do 217E-4 (Werk Nr. 5375), U5+EH, from 1. Staffel, Kampfgeschwader 2, with on board Oberfeldwebel Rudolf Bucksch, Unteroffizier Matthias Speuser and Unteroffizier Albert Otterbach, for a mission over England. at around 01.00 hrs they reached British airspace and shortly after that his the cable of a barrage balloon over Lakenham, Norwich. Heavily damaged the started loosing altitude and crashed at 01.20 hrs in a field near West Green Farm in West Poringland. All four crew members were dead on impact..
