Allan was born on April 21 1923 in Elnora Alberta, the son of Edward Anderson and Olea Sophia Anderson nee Johnson (both Norwegians) of Huxley Alberta. They were married on August 15 1921 in Edmonton. He was married on January 1 1944 in Doncaster England with Joan Anderson nee Heywood of Moldgreen Huddersfield England and they had one daughter Clea Veronica Anderson (September 7 1944). Joan remarried later as Mrs. Bell. His brother was Arville Sydney Anderson and his sister was Margaret Vernia Anderson. He was a farm labourer and member of the Lutheran Church. He spoke English and Norwegian and his sports were softball and skating. He enlisted on October 30 1942 in Calgary and he went thereafter on September 1 1943 overseas to the UK. Allan was killed in action on Monday May 22 1944 age 21 due to a crash near Peursum – Goudriaan before or after an attack on Duisburg in Germany. The other fallen RCAF crew member was F/Sgt Stanley D. Spencer age 22 in grave K-1 and the other fallen RAF crew member was F/Sgt Trevor G. Franklin age 21 in grave in K-1. The other fallen RAF Volunteer Reserve crew members were Sgt James Kiltie age 23 in grave K-2 and Sgt John Moffatt in grave K-1. The other RAF crew members survived the crash and they became then prisoners of war: Sgt J.F. Tomney and Sgt B.F. Bird.
He is mentioned with the other fallen crew members on a memorial stone donated by the municipality of Goudriaan at the cemetery there.
He served with the 166 (R.A.F.) Sqdn Royal Canadian Air Force.
