“Oberleutnant Freiherr von Kettelhodt stormed the fortified redoubt ‘Knop’ on the 14.06.1940 in the face of ferocious enemy artillery fire and in spite of the extremely difficult conditions encountered. By doing this he secured the decisive condition for his Division to succeed in breaking through the Maginot Line.”
