30.10.1942: commander of the liner "Président Doumer", belonging to the maritime couriers of Marseilles and requisitioned by the British army, torpedoed 1,500km west of Tangier, between the Canaries and the Madeira Islands by the German submarine U-604 led by Kaleunt Horst Höltring.
