Lotz House

The Lotz House served as field hospital in the area for Confederate as well as Union soldiers.
The house is now a museum. The floors of the house are still stained with the blood of the men who were treated here. There are also impacts of cannonballs visible.

The Second Battle of Franklin was the frontal attack, over open terrain, on the strong Northern defenses in Franklin, on 30 November 1864. The attack, the largest single attack in the American Civil War, failed. Of the 19,000 Confederate soldiers, 1750, including six generals, were killed and 3800 were wounded.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
