Le Pont de la Pierre

This bridge across the Elle is on the marching route of the 29th Infantry Division on their way to St. Lô. 1st Battalion, 115th Infantry Regiment got the assignment to capture this bridge but didn't succeed after two attempts on June 12th. Now there is a memorial for this battalion near the bridge. Eventually the division got across the Elle via another bridge.
