This barrier, unique to the Westwall fortifications, was constructed as part of the Limes programme in 1938/39. There are two parallel lines of concrete foundations, 1.5m wide and about 5m apart. U shaped steel girders, which were brought back from Czechoslovakia as war booty, are embedded in them. The girders were sawn off after the war, but their positions are clearly visible in the foundations.
The barrier lies between the river Wurm and the Aachen-Monchengladbach railway line and runs north-south for about a kilometer between the L364 and Teverenstrasse bridges, before crossing the railway to run south another 400m east of the railway.
