Donelson’s Brigade Monument

This memorial commemorates Donelson’s Brigade, involved in the Battle of Perryville.
The Battle of Perryville, also known as the Battle of Chaplin Hills, took place on 8 October 1862. It was the biggers and bloodiest battle in Kentucky. The battle resulted in a tactical Confederate victory but also in a strategic Union victory.
In the battle, in total about 1,400 men were killed and 5,600 wounded. About 700 soldiers were missing or captured.
