This Visitor Center gives information about the Mine Creek Battlefield, the Battle of Mine Creek and the Civil War in the West.
The Battle of Mine Creek took place on 25 October 1864 and lasted only one hour in which 8,000 Confederates fought against 2500 Union soldiers. The battle resulted in a Union victory. In the battle, 600 Confederates were killed or wounded and hundreds were captured. The Union losses were 120 dead or wounded.
