The New Market Battlefield Military Museum, is dedicated to the Battle of New Market. It it also dedicated to other wars and there are exhibitions about the First and Second World Wars and the Vietnam War.
The Battle of New Market took place on 15 May 1864. The battle resulted in a Confederate victory. In the battle, the Union lost 841 men (killed, wounded, missing or captured), the Confederates 520 men.
