Chicora Confederate Cemetery

In Averasboro Cemetery is a plot (Chicora Civil War Cemetery) for 56 Confederate dead from the Battle of Averasboro.
In the Battle of Averasboro, on 16 and 17 March 1865, 26,000 Union soldiers fought against 8,000 Confederates. The Union lost about 650 men (dead, wounded, missing or captured), the Confederates about 800 men.
