Memorial Battle of Vyazma

This memorial, erected in 1912, commemorates the Battle of Vyazma.
The Battle of Vyazma took place on 3 November 1812 at the beginning of the retreat of the La Grande Armée of Napoleon. In this battle, the rear guard of the French army was defeated by the Russians under command of General Mikhail Andreyevich Miloradovich.
