Memorial Defenders of Ciudad Rodrigo

This memorial commemorates the First Siege of Ciudad Rodrigo, which lasted from 26 April to 9 June 1810. Here, 65,000 French soldiers fought against 5,500 Spaniards who defended the city. Eventually the French conquered the city.
