The USS Cod (SS-224) is a Gato-class submarine. During the Second World War, she sailed zeven patrols in the Pacific, where she sank 15 vessels and many junks.
On 10 July 1945, she saved the crew of the grounded Dutch submarine O-19.
Nowadays she is a museumship, one of the finest restored submarines on display and is the only U.S. museum submarine that has not had stairways and doors cut into her hull for public access. Visitors use the same vertical ladders and hatches that were used by her crew.
For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
