Andrés Diego Torrejón García (1736-1812), the ordinary mayor of the Noble State of the town of Móstoles, was one of the people who on 2 May 1808 signed the Bando of Independence and called for the aid of the capital by other authorities, inciting authorities and naturalists to arm themselves against the French invaders. This started the Peninsular War. He died in Móstoles in 1812, along with 190 other people due to hunger.
