Memorial Jacinto Ruiz y Mendoza

This memorial commemorates the Infantry Lieutenant Jacinto Ruiz Mendoza (1779–1809), a hero of the uprising on 2 May 1808 (Dos de Mayo) in Madrid and of the Peninsular War, which took place from 1808 to 1814 between the Spanish, Portuguese and British on the one hand and the French under command of Napoleon on the other side.
