Commonwealth War Graves New Calton

New Calton Burial Ground contains 4 Commonwealth war graves from the First World War. There are also the graves of five unidentified members of the Merchant Navy, who lost their lives during the Second World War. They were found on the deck of the M.V. Atheltemplar, which had been in flames after bombing by enemy aircraft on 1st March 1941, and had lost at sea a number of her crew.
