This fort is build in 1898 as coastal defense fort for the defense of Washington. During the Second Word War, the fort was used by teh OSS and as interrogation center for prisoners-of-war. The POWs, mainly crewmembers of German submarines, were also housed in a camp here. After interrogation they were send to other POW-camps.
Nowadays the fort is a park and open to the public.
