Battery Murphy
Battery Murphy was part of Fort Columbia, which was part of the harbor defense of the Columbia and was built in 1900. The battery was operational until 1945. It was equipped with two 6" guns.

Battery 246
Battery 246 was a part of Fort Columbia and was built from 1942 on. The battery should be equipped with two 6" guns but these were never mounted.

Nowadays the fort is part of a Washington State Park and can be visited. There is also a museum, with an exhibition about the Coast Artillery Corps in the Second World War. Battery 246 contains now two guns of the original type.
