The Norwegian Armed Forces Aircraft Collection is housed in a beautiful, modern building southwest of Oslo Airport. The collection consists of more than 30 historic aircraft and give a unique insight into Norwegian military aviation, with several rare aircraft from World War II. A complete collection of jet fighters which served with the Royal Norwegian Airforce during the Cold War years is also on display.

The plane in the photo is a Ju-52/3M g4e mey construction number 6657.

This is the famous Ju-52 which in the Norwegian winter of 1939-1940 landed on the frozen Hartvigvann more south of Narvik to suply the German troops. After an attack by the Norwegian and British air forces, this plane could not come off the ice and the spring made the Ju-52 fell through the ice and a little more than 40 years it has lain under the ice before being salvaged.

It was restored and is now at sight at the Oslo Gardermoen Museum.
