Westwall - Remains Bunkers

This is part of a group of 5 bunkers on Ritscheider Heide, between the village of Oberforstbach and the autobahn, facing the Belgian border 1 km away.

The open farmland, from where you can see all 5 remains, is accessible on foot or bike via Ritscheider Weg. The ruins are mostly buried but you get a good idea of the siting strategy, especially if you add the bunkers in Augustiner Wald opposite.

There was of course no autobahn there when they were all built in the late 1930s.
