T-34-76 Tank Volgograd

This tank memorial commemorates the day (26 January 1943) that the 121th Tank Brigade linked up with elements of the 62th Army. The text on this memorial reads:

"On 26 January 1943 (at 10.00) this tank, which came from the west as part of the spearhead of the tank brigade of Colonel Nevzjinski, made contact with elements of the 62th Army, which defended Stalingrad from the east. This meeting of the 121th Tank Brigade with elements of the 62th Army divided the German armed forces in two parts, which contributed to its destruction."
