Virgin Mary Church Ivanovskoye

The church of the icon of Virgin Mary "the sign" in the village Ivanovskoye, near the town Volokolamsk. The church was built in 1783. It wasn't closed by communists and worked until 1941. From the 27th of October, Volokolamsk was under German occupation. Germans placed a machine gun's nest in the church. Volokolamsk was liberated on the 20th of December during the battle of Moscow. After the war there was a storehouse in the church. The walls of church have many holes made by bullets and shells. The Russian Orthodox Church plans to restore it in the next few years.
