Memorial for courageous people in WW2

We commemorate with gratitude the courageous people from Velp - resistance fighters, silent helpers and the saviours - who offered over 600 people in hiding a refuge from 1940-1945.

Former people in hiding, surviving dependants of resistance fighters and other citizens, 16 April 2015.

The sculpture 'The child in hiding' symbolises the - also Jewish- people in hiding. The six surrounding benches symbolise the people of Velp en the resistance groups who protected them.
