Mass Grave Soviet Prisoners of War Oslo

This grave contains the remains of 347 Soviet prisoners of war.

"More than 12,000 Soviet citizens perished in German prison camps in Norway during the war years 1941-1945. They are buried in war cemeteries and ordinary cemeteries in Norway. 347 of them are buried under the Soviet memorial here. The monument was erected by grateful Norwegians and unveiled by the then Crown Prince Olav on 7, November 1947. sculptor was Kolbjorn Juel Sorlie"
