This Monument at the top of the Col d'Aubisquee inaugurated on 26 September 1946 commemorates André Bach, a victim of both World War I and World War II.
André Bach was born in 1888, and died in 1945, was a member of the Legion of Honor and president of the Cyclo Club of Béarn (CCB).
He was maimed during World War I when he lost his left arm in 1916. In 1943, he was deported to Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany and died in Boulay-Moselle during his return home in May 1945.
