Crash Site P-51D Mustang 44-14768

The P-51D Mustang 44-14768 crashed on 23 February 23 1945 in a field near Henri Dunantsingel number 14 due to high-speed mechanical problems. Her pilot 2nd Lieutenant Richard W. Taylor was killed. Taylor was part of Operation Clarion, intended to destroy the remaining German transport and communication system. The aircraft was lifted in November 1951 and later scrapped.
