Bunker Babermont Nord

This bunker was built by the British Expeditionary Force in late 1939 and early 1940 during the Phoney War. It is part of a series designed to strengthen the original French defence line running along the French side of the Belgian border.

In fact, the front line was later moved further east, but then the German advance overran this region so fast that the bunker would never have seen the action it was built for.
It is visible from the motorway A27 when driving west, but accessible via the village of Haute-Borne on the D955 road.
