War Memorial Dorsetshire Regiment Sherborne Abbey

This memorial, within the Sherborne Abbey, commemorates the soldiers of the Dorsetshire Regiment which (with it’s predecessors) was active in a.o. the Coalition Wars (1792-1815), the Crimean War, the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902), World War I and World War II.

A plaque commemorates Colonel Percival John Browne CB who served his country in the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902). He was lost at sea in July 1909.
