In the gravel hole Adolfosee you can find 4 bunkers that were part of the Westwall. At the time of construction they were still in a field. After the war, people have been trying to blow up the bunkers.
When dredging, the owner dr. Adolf Spies von Büllesheim, despite the assignment to remove the bunkers, let them stand. In 1987 the bunkers were characterized as a landscape monument.
