Collection Oldebroek 4045

Collection Oldebroek 4045 is a new museum at Hortensiastraat 7 in Wezep. On April 18, 2018, this collection was opened with items and documents from the Second World War. It is a starting museum for the Noordoost Veluwe, Kampen and Zwolle.

The collection is still small at the moment. The aim is to collect, possibly on loan, things from the period 1940 - 1945 (here is called 40-45, but actually it is from the mobilization on 28 August 1939), from the municipality of Oldebroek and the surrounding area (may of course also come from elsewhere in the Netherlands) and the collected to keep, to maintain and to exhibit to the public.
Dutch, English, Canadian and German soldiers were stationed on the Noordoost Veluwe and in Kampen and Zwolle in the years 1940 to 1945 and perhaps also soldiers of other nationalities. In addition, police, Marechaussee, N.S.B., the B.S. and local (resistance) groups. Furthermore, planes have crashed and a flying bomb in Oosterwolde, and all kinds of bombs have fallen throughout the region. Very well known is of course the robberies at the Distribution Offices at the Zuiderzeestraatweg in Wezep and in Elburg.
It would be a shame to leave all those things from the WW2 period that might be left somewhere in an attic or in a barn, and not to make them accessible to a wide audience.
