Observation Bunkers Base-end Stations Muir Beach

These observation bunkers were built in the Second World War, as part of the American coastal defense. The steel parts of the bunkers were removed after the war. They were observation locations where spotters would measure the location of hostile ships. Another station down the coast would do the same and using triangulation, the distance could be determined and then transmitted to shore batteries.
