Heroes Homes Schoten

In 1925, the SA Foyers pour Invalides de Guerre et autres Victimes du Devoir commissioned the building of 19 so-called heroes' homes.
Of these, 18 are still retained and only one has disappeared.
These heroic residences had to commemorate the war heroes, who died on the battlefield.
A memorial plaque with the name of a fallen soldier was placed on each house.
