Battery Townsley
Battery Townsley was a part of Fort Cronkhite, part of the harbor defense of San Francisco and was built from 1938 to 1940. The casemated battery became operational until 1948, when it was deactivated. It was equipped with two 16" guns.
Nowadays the battery is open to the public.
