This memorial, within the St. Alkelda's Church, commemorates 2nd Lt. John Starkie Preston who gave his life on 27 June 1900 in the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902) and Thomas Haworth Preston who gave his life at Ploegsteert on 17 November 1914 in World War I.
